I was throwing away old and broken stuff and was curious if my Macintosh 512k that is 23 years old and in a box for 8 years was still working Sure enough, it powered on and is in great condition; the only thing not working were a few of the floppy disks I love when you turn it on, you get the blinking disk icon with the question mark As soon as you put in a disk, the Mac is happy Since it does not have a hard drive, it only powers up with a disk that contains the operating system It has 512k of memory, an 8MHz Motorola processor, and retailed for $2800 The famous user-friendly Macintosh finder; with PCs of the day, after booting up the computer you were simply given: C:\>_ Transylvania: an old game of mine; you can win the entire game in about 10 minutes The Apple Logo We later upgraded to the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh_IIci">Macintosh IIci</a> If you want to see more, check out this <a href="http://www.wadecherry.com/Videos/Mac512k.wmv">video</a>
