I landed in New York City greeted by a mix of rain and snow The temperature was around 34 degrees; warm enough to rain but cold enough to keep the snow on the ground. It was pretty miserable weather. I was in NYC for an interview with Bloomberg. The bloomberg building, here, was very impressive on the inside. It had an open floor plan where there were no cubes, only desks, and all the conference rooms had glass walls, not to mention the fish tanks and free food and drinks offered in biodegradable cups and bowls This is the 54-story Bloomberg tower which sits atop the 9-story base of offices On my walk to the hotel, I took some pics around the city My view from the hotel Times Square looking south Times Square looking north; I believe this is where they drop the ball on New Years If you like tall buildings and lots of people, NYC is the place to go I grabbed a hamburger from McDonalds for dinner and ate it on my $70 taxi ride back to the airport My specialty is low-level embedded software so I'm not quite sure why I was interviewing at Bloomberg, the financial company, and not too surprisingly, an offer was not made Nonetheless, it was a great experience, I learned a lot, and I got to see a bit of NYC I would like to go back someday as a tourist...
